Starmer Coconut Fish (Other boilies).

Captor’s Comments:

I arrived at the linear complex and heading towards brasenose 2 on first sight the lake looked rammed but after a proper look I found a nice unpressured part of the lake. The wind was hacking into the swim I decided to fish. I hadn't put much bait out as I wasn't to sure who had been in the swim before me so I chucked one rod out on a chod as I always do, one rod was put out on a running rig with starmer coconut fish boillie tipped with pineapple flavoured corn and my third rod I had on the lead clip system, limpet leader with a long hook link fished KD style on a wide gape hook the choice of hook bait was starmer coconut fish again tipped this time with a 10mm hellraiser from avid The hellrsiser is an imitation boillie with is super buoyant.

Once the rods were out I set up home for the night and then the waiting game commenced.

After about half an hour I had a single beep followed by a screaming run. I struck into felt the weight of the fish then nothing. I had lost my first fish (not happy). After changing the hooklink and the rod put back out into position I decided that I would prepare a solid pva bag just in case I decided to change tactics a bit later. In the bag were crushed starmer coconut fish pellets some half boillies and some trusted bait tech mojo ground bait.

Another half hour had past and I had lost another fish what's going on I asked myself. I decided it was using the KD rig with a wide gape. I tied another hook link this time with a size 8 Korda curve shank still with the hellraiser as I was determined to catch with them. I had heard great things and I have experienced great things so far on my first session using them (even if I have lost both fish)

At 4pm my mate David arrives he starts to unload his car and walks over to me only to tell me that he has forgot his bivvie!!!! So he gets back into his car for the 30 mile trip home to go get it. I was expecting him to come back a few minutes later to tell me he was joking but no such luck I couldn't believe it!!!

I was sitting on my chair watching the water and there was a lot of crashing in the little bay to my left. I decided to chuck my chod over there hoping to nick one out. David got back at about 5.45 with his bivvie this time and just as I had hoped the chod roared off to a lovely 2lb mirror stockie least it this session isn't a blank now!!

Well the night didn't bring too much success either a part from having to wade into the lake with nothing on but my boxers and jumper, I had cast my pva bag out that I prepared during the day and I can't have put my rods together properly as the tip section torpedoed off into the lake snapping my line!!!

I woke up at around 8am it had been raining all night but had stopped by the time I got out of my bed. Rods in and off to get a breakfast roll from oxlease. Rods out when I got back and I got stuck into my breakfast.

At 11am I had a couple of beeps followed by a screamer on the chod again. After playing the fish for about 5mins it came off (another lost fish 4 now not happy) on inspection of the rig somehow the leadcore had wrapped it self around the hook causing the hook to pull. Chod back out and time to commence waiting again.

The session didn't produce any more fish partly due to the fact that someone had set up next to me and decided to spod from the minute he got there which I think put an end to any action.
